Thinking of adding a Croc to my next hunt. What interesting things have you done with skull and hides? I am sure I do not want to fasten it to my living room ceiling for display, but it would start a discussion for sure.
I hunted a Croc this past trip. Made sure not to take a brain or skull shot on it so could have the skull intact. Having the hide tanned for a wall or floor display.
For me it depends on the length of the croc.
Options:
A. Full body mount under a glass top coffee table.
B. Floor shoulder mount, with open mouth (as if attacking), a glass base (to simulate water), positioned in a scene with a fully body mount of a small PG animal.
Use the rest of the hide for other items: vest, jacket, belt, holster, etc.
C. Full body mount that can go on the wall or floor with open mouth.
The crocodile stones. The vast majority of people on earth will have no idea what these stones are. And given a thousand guesses, they will probably not guess right either. These stones have been in my family's possession for a very long time. For as long as I can remember, they have been kept in a shotgun shell box in my father's steel cabinet, which used to be his father's cabinet, and which is now mine. When I was a little boy my father...
I realize they are bigger than out average alligator here in south Louisiana, but euro the skull, custom boots, belts and wallets are fine uses for the belly/neck skin. That's what I have done with many of ours we caught.
