What caliber would you bring back from the dead?

7x66 Vom Hofe Super Express.
And I'd take to the clinic my beloved 9,3x64, that is not doing too well...
I think that the 9.3x64 is a great cartridge, this wildcatted to 375 or 40 something x64 would be interesting. I know a little off topic.

What I don't get is the need to go outside normal bullet weights with a cartridge. The 30-06 is best in my opinion with. 150 to 180g bullets. They make bullets above and below this range. Instead of making a cartridge something it isn't use a larger or smaller cartridge. I have always believed that a rifle shoul shoot one load well and that is it's load. I love the 30-06 and have four of them so just using it as an example.

Punt gun! But I’ll need a gun bearer :ROFLMAO: I’m sure NF will find me a decent solid for elephant in the delta

Have you ever used a 220 grain or 250 grain bullet in the 30-06?

I'd love to see some more of these with factory ammo/components and dies, plus more than a couple of bespoke type offerings

318WR
350 Rigby
375 Flange
450 Rigby
450 Nitro Express
450 No2 Nitro Express
475 Nitro Express
475 No2 Nitro Express
475 No2 Jeffery

Calibers I'd love to see more of because I own them and seem like they're on life support
250 Savage
257 Roberts
275 Rigby
300 H&H

I’ve got a list somewhere, I know they definitely make 4bore as they are $55 each (Australian) . May need to email them and ask for a price
Gumpy

My 8-bore brass was made by Rocky Mountain Cartridge. The cases are well made but having another source of brass would be a good thing, so I'll send Bertram and email.

.303 British.
I am surprised that nobody from the former British Empire proposed it.
With two world wars and innumerable local conflicts under the belt, the old soldier doesn't deserve to fade away.

303 British is not even close to dead!

PPU, Hornady, Remington, Winchester, Federal, and S&B all still produce the cartridge. I found those with a quick search on MidwayUSA's website... I'm sure many more companies are making the cartridge.

True Matt but very few if any rifles made in .303 in this day & age, (there are thousands out there lol) I think last we’re Ruger No1 & Uberti maybe still Uberti, unfortunately I hear both aren’t very accurate or have problems ?

On the 8 bore, I have Shotguns & rifle, very few original brass cases but shoot heaps of Winchester Kiln gun cases with no problems, cheap & very plentiful, I read that Remington cases were better but these are fine, use both Black powder & Nitro (Blue Dot, getting hard to find) loads !

wish that the older guns that they used could be brought back, at the prices that they originally sold for without any adjustments for inflation, We can only dream on that though.

Id take them at adjusted prices. Being able to buy a brand spanking new Swedish 1896 for a few hundred bucks would be fantastic. Same for the 98's, 1903's, etc. Those old military bolt actions were wonderfully reliable and fairly accurate.
