What are the more important features that you look for in a hunting lodge?

What about additional activities available to you on your safari?
An option to play golf, go fishing (deep sea), mountain biking, some shopping at the local stores (maybe more for the ladies) a trip to the beach a day excursion to a local wildlife reserve for photography, sky diving, bungee jumping or maybe even a local museum or exhibition of some sorts, seeing local schools and development programs. Do you consider these types of options or is it simply "Iam going to Africa to hunt, so hunt is what i'll do!"

Kind regards
Jono

I know for some folks, these extra activities are must haves, to make a complete trip.

Myself, well, I am reminded of a line from the John Wayne movie "The Quiet Man". "When I drink water, I drink water. When I drink whiskey, I drink whiskey".

The only two ways I would choose a non-hunting activity are: 1. I am out of trophy fee money, or 2. My wife makes me! :)

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
