What are the differences in Tikka T3X rifles?

Tikka T3 7 Rem Mag. Added a steel recoil and a Limbsaver recoil pad. It been a great rifle and I haven’t seen that I would gain much by going to a newer Tikka. I really like the look and feel of the Roughtech Ember but can’t justify the price.

I took my T3X Superlite in 243 Win down to Texas on a feral hog and upland game bird hunt a couple of years ago.
The ranch owner had a beautiful long range rifle range built in the ranch. Using my Barnes 80 gr TTSX reload I worked up for this rifle, everyone there was amazed that I was ringing steel with it out to 800 yards. Except for a lighter trigger spring I put in it, the rifle is completely stock.
I love my Tikka and wish I had several more of them.

The T3 family of rifles are just excellent. Mine is a T3 Lite in 7mm RM and a twin to yours. All I added was scope, rings and sling. So my black plastic, blued version is likely the cheapest version. But it’s such a great rifle and can be credited with some really good animals.

Sadly for me, this little lady has claimed it away from me and has now killed more game with it than I have!

I'm just starting to decide on a new lightweight setup for moose/bear and whitetails and I have decided on the Tikka t3x lite battue, now I need to pick which caliber, I am leaning .308, or maybe .3006 but more than likely the .308, my plan is to set it up with quick detachable rings and a scope with a lighted reticle, maybe the firedot from Leopold and go from there.

I like the open sight options for this model,as why I chose it along with the barrel length and weight. I've never worked the action on a Tikka and didn't smile, excellent guns, not overpriced and a working mans mountain rifle....imo....

I’ve posted this rifle on a couple other threads, but here’s my latest T3X. A 9.3x62. These are very hard to come by in the states, so I was tickled to find this one in like new condition. She’s a bit light for caliber, so I may add a heavier stock to get the weight up a bit.

The wife’s Tikka 7x64, that I should have bought for me.
I bought a Bell and Carlson stock on clearance some years ago. Sat on it for a while, wanted a 7mm-08 or 7x57 for my wife but in hindsight I could have used a 6.5x55 in the stock.
Anyways, here we are this is my latest obsession and I’m liking the B&C stock.
That’s an Atlas Works bolt handle

Are you still liking the B&C stock?

I picked this synthetic stock up on EBay this week. It fits the 9.3 like a glove, and is actually one ounce heavier than the wood stock. Not enough to matter, but I bet the synthetic will absorb recoil a bit better.

I was leaning towards the 9.3x62 in the battue, they are readily available and lots hunt with that round up here for moose,I have not made up my mind, lots of ammo choices as well, they just twice the price a box and for the moose I will be hunting,I am not sure I want to give up the easy to find caliber ammo if I forget or lose mine by chance on a trip,I know everyone shoots a .308 or 06 for moose here in Ontario and Quebec,so easy to locate away from stores from other hunters....etc....but I am very interested in the 9.3, such a great cartridge for anything basically.

If it wasn’t so hard with all the new rules (also expensive shipping) & you were interested I could of sent you over my spare laminated stock, I have them on two of my Tikkas the 9.3 & the 510 WSM so the weight is a plus !

I appreciate that! Yes, I would think the laminated stock would be quite a bit heavier. Do you happen to know the weight?

Great battue sights!

Well I didn’t but just weighed them, Laminate is 2lb.9oz with Limbsaver recoil pad.

The T3 synthetic weighted 1lb.11.

My Tikka got me second place in a PRS match out of about 75 shooters — I was the limiting factor.
Different in stock, barrel, flash hider...but they are accurate

I have in my possession a T3X Arctic awaiting transfer to a customer. I can find no faults. I own a T3x I chambered in .338 Federal and a .223. They just work.

Since the price points vary from $750 to $1100, what are the important differences in the T3X models? What do you get for the extra money. Most of all, is the $750 black version as ACCURATE as the higher priced ones. Is a bedding job required for best results or best left alone? Pros/cons of the T3X lite model. Feel free to give me the good the bad and the ugly if you own one!

The T3X Veil Wideland Camo ones even go up to $1,400-$1,500

And the increased cost is generally different stocks, fluted barrels, fluted bolts, Cerakote over a stainless barrel, and threaded barrel.

The threaded barrel didn't used to be available on the lower end models. But they have started doing threaded barrels on their lower priced models recently.

I had a Lefty Ruger .375 guide gun and let it go, that is what got me to looking into another,I had it narrowed down to a Ruger in a .338 win mag or then I came across the 9.3 in the battue,I am a southpaw but grew up shooting levers and right handed bolts,I actually felt awkward with my Lefty bolt, as why I let it go but I have yet to make a decision,Im about 6 weeks out and basically have it down to a Ruger guide gun or the battue from Tikka,I'd probably stick with the 9.3x62 if I went battue

Are you in the USA? If so, the 9.3 Tikka is going to be hard to find.

Thanks for the info! An extra 14oz would definitely help a bit. I haven’t actually shot mine yet, so I’ll make a decision once I get some good hot loads worked up. It may be fine, as is.

Are you still liking the B&C stock?
Yes, we don’t have a lot of time behind it but I would like to hunt with it.
For a moderately priced aftermarket stock I’m happy.
