Gsxrmike, beautiful set up, and love the look of the humidor next to the buffalo. Well done sir!

browningbbr, your man-cave is out of this world, well done as well.

Congrats to both!

I have a smaller split-foyer home so worked with what I had on the lower level. I did the plywood backing between the studs also.

Finished Product.

Decorated. That is a 55" TV. Angle makes everything look smaller.

I went with a light sky blue for my African's, it reminds me of the safari. My North American's an off white. IMHO

@Heeler75

Obviously you work with what you're given, but how do you feel about your axis being that low to the ground? A little odd or fine?

I'm in a situation similar to yours where all the walls except the lower ones are spoken for.

I really like those Plaques the warthog tusks are mounted on. Can you tell me where to find something like that?

I personally like darker richer colors with earth tones. They create great contrasts and yet still allow art, guns, wildlife and books blend well together. You will see similar tones - often in greys - in most museums. Because of the nature of our displays, I tend to prefer rich greens and browns. I tend not to like wood paneling (not criticism - just a personal taste thing) because it can be busy and conflict with what you are trying to display.

Being in the corner behind the TV it works fine. If it was on the side where the couch is at then I'd probably not like it as much. That ledge is about 37" tall.

In April, I uploaded some pictures of my trophy room. However, there was one small part of the project that was not completed until this week: A closet under the stairs was converted into a wine room.

Very cool! The TWA poster is a nice touch.

What I wanted was someone to reproduce this cave painting but couldn’t find anyone locally. I think this would hav set the feeling of “bush” Africa. I settled for

I think many trophy rooms are too dark and the light too low to really catch the power of the trophies. I also prefer placing the mounts and/or skulls at eye level o lower, again to catch the power.

I agree when they are too high up it loses something. I think my favorite color from the different trophy rooms I’ve seen here is the green background. Just seems to be a great contrast. My next trophy room will be painted that color.

A lot of great looking trophy rooms! What do you think about a trophy room that is inside a log cabin?

Man that is a lot of 14 Hands....my wife would get along with you great (read drink all your wine)!!

I'm picking up a couple more cases tomorrow - now we have the room to store it and I found it on sale for $6.99 a bottle...

Thoughts on type of paint, semi gloss or flat?
