Good day.
For sale is a very nice exampple of an original Westley Richards .425 in near perfect condition.
It was bought directly at Westley Richards (Birmingham) when managed by Mr Walter & Simon Clode in 1992. Since then, it has been a safe queen, only shot occassionaly for target practice (maybe 10 rounds total count). This rifle's form and function are flawless as you would expect from such a maker/age.
I will let the pictures speak by themselves, but some specs are:
-Mauser K98 (only two-position safety flag!), lever-type magazine latch release.
-Westley Richards' patent front hooded sight with moonsight.
-24" barrel with one fixed and two folding rear sights, barrel band for sling.
-Some tasteful scroll-type engraving on trigger guard, magazine cover, bottom screws, bridges.
-LOP 13 3/4" over classic red recoil pad.
-Very nice stock with some minor blemishes and sharp checkering, ebony fore-end tip and steel grip cap.
-100% original probably dating around 1940s-1950s.
-No case, no accessories.
-Original (1992) Westley Richards invoice available.
All in all, a great example in superb condition of a classic African DG rifle in the maker's own cartridge.
This rifle is located in Spain.
Price US $ 18,000.00.
All export/customs/transport costs will be the buyer's responsibility.
There is a plentiful supply of cartridges (both soft & solids bullets) which will be made availbale to the buyer. I will have to count them, but for sure they run into the hundreds. Mostly Westley Richards, Wolfgang Rommey and some Kynoch (newer ones under Mr. David Little).
I will be available for any queries regarding this rifle and will have access to it unti may 30th (I will be travelling abroad for a longish period of time) should there be a need for additional photos, measurements or any other details,
Long time member, first time selling.
I encourage serious offers. No trades.
Best,
Luis
