It probably is. In the context of reliability it may be similar to the PF vs CRF debate or rimmed vs rimless cartridges in doubles. Basically a non issue in a modern, well made firearm.Must be pretty reliable, some big names in African hunting here:

Correct. Rather a shame. It probably is. In the context of reliability it may be similar to the PF vs CRF debate or rimmed vs rimless cartridges in doubles. Basically a non issue in a modern, well made firearm.
The thing about a single trigger is that it takes a “double rifle” and makes it a “rifle with two barrels”, negating one of the primary benefits of a double rifle: redundancy.
If I had the wherewithal to purchase a bespoke Westley Richards I would be hard pressed for a "moment or two" whether to order a Side Lock or Drop Lock... Westley Richards and Drop Locks go hand in hand...Removing and holding one of their jeweled Locks in hand is a treasure indeed
I think I got the best outcome - a Westley Richards 450/400 3 inch . Much easier to get brass than 3.25 inch case . Two triggers with two side-locks and two barrels ie two rifles in one . Instant gratification in that it is little used second hand with unbelievably good provenance - tiger hunting in India . And finally the ultimate belt and braces action - two Purdey lugs , a doll’s head and a Greener cross bolt . Super strong . All bases covered .Correct. Rather a shame.
