Well boys, what's your temperature like now?

Kind of off topic, but when I first met my father in law in the early '90s and we were preparing to go on a fishing/pack trip in June, he told me that mosquitos "keep the liberals out of the mountains". Well, they don't, because the liberals created DEET. However, other than on the ski slopes, a good amount of snow WILL keep the liberals at home during hunting seasons. LOL

Could be somewhere in Africa in July? LOL
Oh, I just came from there, I was showing the pyramids to my grandchildren. There's a drought there too, but it's a little warmer. I looked longingly to the south, so I want to visit the real, Black Africa.

Hope you don’t have to head out into it tonight!?!?
NO I don't! It's my Saturday and I'm so glad I don't have to work tonight AGAIN in this crap that I'm celebrating with a couple of ales. Come April, I'm done with it. More time for shooting LARGE BORE stuff on the range. LOL

We’ll celebrate it at the range!

Camo T shirt and thong for the hunting attire? LOL Seriously though, if you have room I would love to go next February. I COULD bring my 5th wheel down? OR, bring my father in laws Davis outfitter tent.
I'll give you a call next week once I get home

It's funny, but my sister's late husband was, in your opinion, a liberal, and he was bitten very badly by mosquitoes. He was covered in blisters when he was outdoors.

Good "skill" on those javelinas and shoot straight with your .340 WEATHERBY MAGNUM.

We hunt the HAM's season. Handguns, muzzle loaders, and archery.

I've used my TC Contender in 7-30 Waters, 44 magnum, 357 magnum, and my Bareta M96 in 40S&W.

I did one year consider my 340. Because I worked the 1999 Alpine Ski championship in Vail we hunted the rifle season at the end of February. But I still used a pistol and shot one at 10 yards.

Using a rifle is a little unsportsmanlike at times.

This year with as hot as it is a rifle would be wecomed

-15 below this morning and a high of -1 this afternoon, this Friday gonna have to get the flip flops, shorts and t-shirts out going to BBQ weather weather 15 degrees

Nippy today!

Wore shorts on Saturday...tomorrow the high supposed to be 28. Don't like the weather in Texas, wait a week--it will flip.
Lesson...do your smoking/BBQ while it's warm. It will cost you twice the amount of wood pellets to maintain temperature when it gets cold.

'Gonna be 0F+/- over the next 3 nights BUT that should be the end (of those Temps!) Snow followed by warm & sunny on/off for the next 6-8 weeks. Spring can't get here quick enough!!! P. Phil's on drugs.

Best time to cold smoke your cheese and bacon though.

How do you keep your water pipes from freezing, starting your vehicles to go to work, breathing outside to do anything without your lungs freezing? I thought the few times here when it's been -25 was inconvenient as I've had to work out in it, but those temps are really brutal. Take some of your big bores out and see if they'll fire so in the event you hunt musk ox someday you'll be prepared. LOL

That's why in the winter, at least here, you use propane. You can't use enough charcoal or wood to keep a fire hot when I'M grilling in the teens or below. Ask me how I know. LOL
