Weatherby is moving

Look at all the manufacturers that have moved to SOuth Dakota. Weatherby was considering moving to Missoula, Mt in the late 90’s but decided to stay put. There are several states that have serious pro gun/pro business attitudes and tax rates. MT, WY, SD and TX all open their arms to the firearms industry. Kimber already has their warranty people in MT. You still ship guns to Yonkers NY but all the RMA’s are issued from MT. I’d like to see all these anti gun states realize the lost revenue!

Those states that are anti-gun could care less if those industries move. To them it's all about "principle". It's what their voters want, tax base damage and job loss be damned.

Let 'em suck butt

I agree, but revenue is revenue every little bit of loss puts another nail in the coffin. Eventually they may just realize that rainbows and dildos aren’t the income that an economic entity like a state needs!

Aye! Ne'er has a truer word been spoken!

(You have to read that in a heavy Irish accent)

This is almost enough to get me to consider buying a Weatherby...

Is it wrong for me to love seeing backlash against ideology I detest? ;)

Hurray for Weatherby!! I wonder if they are taking any of their employees with them? If not, I wonder how long it will take new "operators" to get fully up to speed? I think I've read elsewhere that some Weatherby firearms are produced by other manufacturers but I don't know if they all are.

I read 70 to 90 making the move.

The governor to be more precise

while the governor is the ultimate douche nozzle the land of fruit, nut and flake has a disproportionate number of those who like and support his ilk and agenda. I know some very fine people who pulled up roots and moved to Idaho because they couldn't stomach living under a socialist regime. If it seems like I'm tarring everyone with the same brush I'm not just those who are part of the problem

those that are moving are in for a hell of a change as far as winter goes but what they will pick up in awesome wholesome living conditions will be worth it,they may have to go to Denver or billings to get some fancy culture but they will be glad to go back to the big horns and smell sweet pine air and morning frost, all we ask here is to respect what we have,we have a game and fish that works pretty hard to keep theiselves away from total legislature control and it has been very hard with the downturn in coal and oil and nat gas if your willing to drive a couple hundred mi you can find somewhere to hunt.

California is such a mess. Weatherby made a good move. Taxes, anti gun, regulations up the ying yang... Why should anyone want to operate a business in Cali?

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
