Got an email from Ryglen Gun Dogs that there were two males in a recent litter four weeks ago. They have been whelped this week and I will go and get him next month. I get to pick first as my deposit has been there the longest.

Here is the pic of the two males.

Cute little ones, what breed is that, some kind of Spaniel?

Nice

Are you going to put him to work on some of those California quail?

Congrats. I've heard a lot of good words spoken about Ryglen. Spoke to the owner a few years back after my Drahthaar passed. Back then the wait was about 18 months or so. I opted to get a Brittany as I couldn't wait that long. How long was your wait?

One of the best pheasant dogs I ever hunted behind was an English Cocker.

About two years but I wanted a liver colored male. He had one that became available last year but I was heading to Africa, so couldn't take it. This one is perfectly timed as I will not be traveling internationally together with my girlfriend until March. I am hoping to get him trained enough to hunt next fall.

Enjoy your pup. Hope you have many happy days together in the field. I've enjoyed my Brittany. He is excellent on upland and has often pointed birds that older, more experienced dogs missed. He comes deer hunting, too. Look forward to some posts when you bring him home.

Working on acclimating the two dogs. It will be a while before both are out at the same time as the bigger one can hurt the puppy unintentionally. Not the mention, at this age puppies are basically teeth with legs and can piss off older dogs.

And now the puppy is the reason the older dog is in jail, that will go down well. I’d like to know how they see it.

Congratulations. They are wonderful dogs. My Cocker Spaniel bitch is 8 months old now. Her parents are both working dogs and she has been a joy to train so far.

Actually, he loves his crate. We have to keep the door closed or he will go in it during the day. We alternate both in crate, he is out puppy in crate. Outside puppy in a pen he is running around. Both in crate is just one session
He still gets plenty of attention.

We will introduce the cat next with the cat on tree n puppy in crate and big dog also out.

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.

Have twice tried to post something that your site canned as "SPAM" or some problem.. "Contact the Administrator"... Not sure why even the "Contact" button would not send my comment so you only received my query but not the content in question. I'll see if I can get it to you this way... NOPE I use a VPN and perhaps that is causing me grief...
