We are officially booked!

I am dropping pins as you gentlemen recommend stops.
Thank you.

When in the falls I recommend lunch or dinner at the 3 Monkeys. Their Tomahawk steak is the best meal in town. Lunch at the Lookout is the best view in the falls. Unfortunately there is very little water going over the falls this year. Hopefully that will change a little!
that might mean he needs to do some Tiger fishing then.

We will only have 2 days in the Falls area. Including our arrival half day and departure half day with a full day in the middle.

Hello Buckshot85
If you are interested in hunting a different area and different animals consider adding on a few days.
Your airline ticket stays the same.
We are located in the Kalahari desert and has some of the biggest gemsbuck (oryx) in Africa.
We pick up all our clients in Johannesburg.

Sincerely
Hans de Klerk

Congrats and best of luck!

3 Monkeys is good, a great lunch spot is eating outside at the Victoria Hotel, you can see the mist from the falls. There is a right nice market to the left of the main road as you get more into the 'downtown' area of Vic Falls. Sure, there will be people bugging you to sell them your shoes, but you have that a lot of places. I've seen warthogs running around in town, you'll see elephant dung lots of places as elephants wander through town after dark. People bungee jump off the bridge between Vic Falls and Zambia. Lots of cool things to see there.

We are staying at Elephant Hills north of town by the golf course.
Can we walk along the river into town and below the falls?
Do we need to be wary of critter encounters that could be sketchy?

From the reviews and pictures, Elephant Hills looks very nice. I will say, if you want to walk around the town of Vic Falls, Elephant Hills is hike. I always stayed at the Kingdom, because it was affordable, and very nice too. From there, you can walk all over the town and not have that far of a walk. As I said before, you'll see warthogs in town, elephant dung in town, so being out and about in the dark would not be a good thing for me, but you may be more adventurous than I would want to be. The road you walk down to Elephant Hills is not well lighted. But PLEASE, I am not trying to diss your choice, you made a good choice, I am simply trying to answer your question. Google maps has Elephant Hills being 1 mile from the Vic Falls bridge, not a long walk, but plenty long on a dark road with elephants close by. If you have time, do a Google search of elephants in the town of Victoria Falls, there's a great video out showing them walking around town after dark.

My wife and I are very excited to finally have our South African trip booked.
We are going around late May/early June of ‘23.
Will start with a couple days in Victoria Falls then back to SA for a 7 day hunt and a couple days of side trips.
The hunt list is warthog, Impala, blue wildebeest and springbuck. May add on zebra and blesbuck.
Do a zebra. They tend to be very reasonably priced in Limpopo. Blesbuck, to me more a EC or even Mpumalamga critter. Springbok are just fun but again, more a open plains critter, Karoo or Kalahari. Think about what else you will hunt because 7 days is a lot of time for 4 to 6 animals. I'd suggest some night hunting. Take a Predator call, even just a mouth call, dying rabbit and squeaking mouse. And a powerful flashlight. Call right off the truck at crossroads or in the open for jackal. Spotlight for genet and porcupine. All 3 of those are cheap or free and pretty plentiful. If budget is not a constraint. Add a big kudu, Limpopo has some good ones and tend to also be reasonably priced for the iconic species they are. Giraffe is another that can be very reasonably priced in the right situation. Waterbuck!

If you are not up for that much hunting, there are lions near where you are hunting so go sightseeing. Lots of big leopard there also. I saw 2 in daylight and a massive Tom at night walking in the ditch 10 feet from us along the road on I think the South side of the airport;)

Or tour Kruger for a day or three:)

Congrats on your booking! You’ll be planning your next trip before you leave!! I’ll be heading back on my fourth trip August 2023!

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
