waterbuck... new world record

Loved the comment "Norwegianwoods"! Thanks for the good laugh!

Welcome to AH 50by50! stick around you'll get a bunch of them with this crowd.

I don't know how you can say anything. It is animals like that that haunt my dreams.

Hi all! Im a new member now. Just shot the nr. 8 waterbuck with Danish client on a farm on limpopo river. It measured 34 and 35 1/2 inches with 11 inch bosses. Still waiting for the drying period for re-measurement. Will see where it measures... Will post a pic shortly. Love the site and everybodys opinions.... Leon

I would rather hunt a Waterbuck that doesn't look like a freak. Despite being a new world record, for me it doesnt do the Waterbuck specie justice. I absolutely love Waterbuck hunting and have hunted some huge bull..... Just cant get over the fact that it might be a genetic defect. Norwegianwood, I agree.

Next time let me shoot the freak waterbuck. :)

I don't mind shooting freak animals, but I am only willing to do it for free or very little money :)

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
