Washington man jailed for Ivory sales

This is why I am considering not hunting any more. I don't want my license $$$ going to stupid shit like enforcing this law.

That’s sad if it goes that way.

The Original story is sad too. This is pathetic. Surely the 15 days can be dropped. I don’t know what the law says or what the offence is but this is ridiculous.
I’m sure these were obtained legally in his time. Now he lost the lot and is a Criminal.
Fisheries acts in Australia have fairly strong penalties that can be imposed but criminals are committing crimes everywhere every day of the week and in some cases the police don’t have the resource to do more and in many cases offenders don’t be get sufficient sentences.
I have some insight into environmental and legal challenges and some authorities are good at enforcing their acts while others take a lighter approach.
This seems to be a seemingly harmless attempt to downsize a legal collection without knowingly committing an offence with premeditated intent.
The detective is doing her job but the department should be responsible for compliance through education.
Again I don’t know what the offence is but the penalty seems excessive for selling 2 publicly advertised items to an undercover detective who is trained in these matters.

It's no better here in England. In fact, it's probably worse. I'm quite the traveller and have lived all over the world, inclding Alaska for 3 years (probably the most free place I've ever lived) and to be honest the world is getting more and more restrictive.

I don't personally own any ivory, or anything that would be considered illegal here in the UK for that matter, but I am very concerned with the direction of laws. Since the 70's, it's gotten worse and worse.

I am actually importing 2 lovely fake tusks to go beside my mantelpiece. They are made of plastic resin, but look quite real.

The UK being as it is, I fully expect trouble at customs. They may even confiscate them, thinking they are real.

We live in a world where we are told what to do and when to do it. SAD.

Honestly, don't let them win.

it's becoming a dog eat dog world, and we need to fight for our basic rights.

providing conservation projects are good, there's no reason why stuff should be "banned"

just annoys the hell out of everyone

Well it annoys all except the Social Justice Warriors and the POS Bureaucrats that implement them!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
