Sorry, no. I really love my 270 m70 ftw (2008 deluxe model). The machining is very very clean and the hammer forged barrel has been spectacular. Hoping to get a new production soon. Rumors in this forum indicate they'll be doing a run of them in the summer. Otherwise, I'm looking at a canadian auction (of all things) that might stay low-price enough to re-import @ $250.

I was recently updated by my Winchester rep that the next production run on the M70 Safari for 375 H&H and 416 Rem is targeting October. the last two projections he gave me (Nov 24, April 25) were pushed and now is expected to be October 25.

I’ve said this before. Take what you can get while you can get them when it comes to safari rifles. Right now, CZ 550s in .375 H&H are relatively plentiful. Winchesters are not.
Plentiful? Sorta… seems like everyone’s capitalizing on the end of production and pulling their $1k cz550 rifle out of the closet and listing it for $2-3k. (Not including the customized ones listed on this forum… those were good deals and i wish i had pounced on them faster.)

Yes, they are more than $1k but one of the gun websites in the last week had 6 CZ550s in 375 H&H. The highest one was $2300 and the lowest was $1450. 4 are gone. Have your pocketbook ready when you see them.

Do you maybe have a store I can pre-order through?

Pocketbook-ready for sure! I hesitated on a Cabela's Big-5 edition for sale locally at $2.2k and now I see one on GunBroker for 3k+. I had been hoping to reach out this weekend!

I would not trust anyone that doesn't have several hundred post and post regularly.

Even then I have been mis-sold on multiple things I thought I was getting a good deal on. Product came through, but rarely as advertised.
Yeah I agree. I might be new to this forum but if I was selling something here I’d encourage people to check me out on a different forum (Long Range Hunting is my main, and can respond to messages on there for proof that I’m the same Rifleman97) for my trader history and hundreds of messages over years of being on the forum. Without that, I’d be cautious

I ending up buying a CZ550 that is absolutely gorgeous as well as an incredible 2010 South Carolina Winchester Safari Express. They are both amazing and I got them both from members of this forum. Super pleased.
How does the CZ feed? I forget what round it was chambered in but I saw on Kentucky Ballistics he tried to shoot one rapid fire and just about every other round when shooting rapidly jammed or double fed. Might’ve been 500 something, Gibbs, Jeffrey, along those lines. I can’t imagine a 375h&h that doesn’t feed so I’m curious

Feeds great. I’ve heard of CZs that are a little “tight” from the factory, but this one is a “Safari Classics”. Note the plural on classic. It is from the CZ custom shop, beautiful wood, 20” barrel and the action is absolutely smooth and gorgeous.

I haven’t figured out yet how to post a link to another post but I bought this rifle posted in classified “

CZ 550 SAFARI CLASSICS MAGNUM EXPRESS RIFLE IN 375 H&H”

It’s a beauty.

I’m going to put in a deposit/order for a Model 70 Safari Express tomorrow and cross my fingers. Likely will be a .375, but I’m tempted about a .416 Rem. Mag.

If I don’t get one then “Oh Well”. While the Mod. 70 is a fine rifle, I’ve never felt it was anything particularly special and I won’t pay the crazy prices used ones are being listed for online.

The Montana Rifle Company should have their TSAVO in .375 H&H in production and available around Christmas this year.

The MRC TSAVO will be higher priced than the Winchester M70 but I believe it will be a better made rifle.
I put the MRC TSAVO rifle in the same class as Kimber of Oregon rifles. A big step above my beloved Model 70's!

I’ve seen the thread regarding that and while I believe it will indeed be a fine rifle, there are several things I would have to change about it to suit me. The initial cost while reasonable, plus the costs of changes I’d make, would put it into a price category that would have me looking elsewhere.

I would rather build something on one of their actions, so if those become available before I receive a Model 70, I would likely change court.

That is my current plan. I have wanted a Model 70 Safari but can not find one for a reasonable price. MSRP is around $1700-1800 and once a dealer gets one they are listed on the sites for $2500-3500. Winchester Customer Service said it may be up to a two year wait. The Tsavo looks like a nice gun with much better wood than the Winchesters. I do have the Winchester Model 70 Alaskan in both .30-06 and 375 H&H. I have not fired the 375 H&H yet (the .30-06 is great shooting), it will probably be sold and that money applied to the Tsavo purchase.

I believe that being a being a 2nd year production rifle (2006) as opposed to a "last ditch" (2017-2019) has a LOT to do with the smoothness and quality of your action.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
