Hello Guys,
I am a first time poster.
We have already purchased tickets to South Africa and will be in the Johannesburg area from Nov. 2nd thru Nov. 26th of this year. This was planned more as a site seeing vacation than anything else. But I am in hopes of including some hunting if possible.
The most I could hunt is 7 to 10 days. My wife would accompany me as an observer. So I would need the daily charge for that right off the start. I would also not want to bring my rifle and would prefer to have the gun/ammo rent payment included.
We were both born on ranches and hunted our entire lives. We aren't looking for lavish arrangements. We can plan a hunt either before or after our site seeing vacation. So we are open as to the max of 10 days we can hunt between the days of Nov. 3rd to Nov. 25th.
I would need the cost of what is covered in the hunt and what isn't. As for the hunt itself I would like to try and take a Kudu, Black Wildebeest, Blue Wildebeest, Zebra, Warthog, Gemsbok, Eland and up to 2 Impala. Plus would like a list of other trophies.
I've hunted South Africa before. Back in 1985. (took 9 plains game species in 11 days). So somewhat not a first timer. But 30 years does change lots of things. The PH I used in 1985 has passed long ago or I would return with him. At any rate looking to see what is out there. I did hunt in April in 1985 so not really sure about being able to hunt in Nov. or any of the particulars. Also not sure the person I hunted with in 85 was a PH or not. Don't know if that was the policy then or not..
Any information you care to send is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
