Weirdo request... I am looking for a Sauer 404 Stutzen Select in 9.3x62mm. They are no longer in production but I would love to have one... I have spoken to a sizable Sauer dealer to no avail. Leads appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I would also consider a Steyr SM12 Full Stock in the same caliber.

Excellent choices. I almost ordered a Sauer 404 stutzen before going with the Steyr SM12 in 9.3x62. I believe you could/can order Sauer 404s through New England Custom Gun, but based on what you said it sounds like they discontinued the stutzen (that would be a shame).

I ordered the Steyr SM12 through JD Outfitters in Oklahoma. The owner (Jerry) makes pretty regular orders to a number of custom shops, including Steyr and Sako. I'd reach out to him and see what he can do.

I've been very pleased with the rifle. No plans to sell it at the present.

Does this rifle have upgraded wood?

The Styer or Sauer would be great choices. I would be proud to own either.

@etsonaut were you able to order in 9.3X62?..........could you upgrade wood?......FWB

Yes sir. I did place an order. As for the wood upgrade, as Jerry explained to me, you can’t choose the actual wood but you can get a higher grade. He will provide that opportunity to me as the order gets further along.

That Steyr is TOP SHELF! Beautiful rifle. Back to couch with covid!

If you don't mind me asking, what does a rifle like the Stutzen or the Steyr SM12 run price wise?

The SM-12 Steyr starts around $4500. I think the CL II model with the full stock is a few hundred less.
It's amazing how much the retail has increased in the last 2-3 years. I believe non-upgraded CLIIs were ~$2,700-2,800 and SM12s ~$3,200-3,300 in 2021.

Hello,
Would you consider selling just the Barnes 235's and 250g TTSX's?

I hunted elephant with Luke Samaris in 2005. It was my fourth safari and I tell you he is a fine gentleman the best. I got the opportunity to meet Patty Curtis, although never hunted with him but enjoyed our conversation around our tent in the Selous. Very sad for a tough guy to leave this world the way he did. Let’s pray the murderers are caught. I hope to see Luke in Nashville.
