Wanted Sako 85 9.3x62

So was I for a while, actually a Sako 75 for me, I ended up buying a Tikka TX3 in 9.3x62 & plan on fitting it to a 75 I have, I have fitted several Tikka barrels to other Sako 75 & 85 with no trouble !

Man, I bought a Sako 85 Black Bear in .308 a month ago. A black bear in 9.3 would be the cat’s pajamas. 20” barrel, great irons and of course the action and trigger.

There’s a couple YouTube videos people have a sako 90 grizzly at shows I guess but I can’t find anything else about them.

I looked for one for the longest time but ended up finding a Steyr CLii at my local gun shop for a good price. Good luck on your search.

A couple of years ago, I missed out on a left-handed Sako 85 Hunter in 9.3x62 for a great price. It’s the only one I ever saw & it still annoys me that I missed it…

I was recently looking for a 9.3x62 in a Steyr when I stumbled across a left-handed CL II in 30-06 that was a great deal. Not exactly what I wanted but close enough to accept a compromise on a nice rifle so I’m happy with it.

Good luck with your search.

A buddy had the Black Bear in 9.3x62. He ended up selling it. I didn't take it because I didn't like the plastic stock. Big mistake.

I did end up getting the full stock Bavarian in 9.3. I changed the sights to the Black Bear style.

Thanks for all the help guys. Still looking seems they are indeed rare

They are hard to find. I have both a 9.3x62 sako brown bear and a 9.3x66 sako grizzly - PM
I would like to get a look at your rifles, would you be able to forward photos?
Thanks,
Gary

Sure, but my father, who is always stealing my guns*, has my 9.3x62 right now**. The photo of me with the bear is the 9.3x62, best I can do at the moment. In true Toby458 fashion, the 9.3x66 is on my kitchen counter. Say what you want about Sako's - I have used them without failure in several different countries - they just shoot straight, that's all I can say

That a steep price. But These are very hard to find in this caliber. Nice compact rifle with great sights

Managed to weed out a few scammers but am still looking for a 9.3x62 sako

I had a Black Bear for a while but didn’t keep it. I now have a new Mauser M12 I purchased from Eurooptiic. For what it’s worth I prefer it over the Sako (and I’m a Sako fan for many years and multiple rifles). So if you can’t find a Sako give that Mauser a good look.

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
