Wanted Model 70 WSSM Action Or Gun

I'm looking for a model 70 WSSM action or complete rifle. Any of the WSSM calibers is fine.

I'm aware but not looking to go that route right now.

Is there a specific reason for the WSSM request? Having such a short action really boxes you in when it comes to cartridge selection.

Problem is SSK isn’t building them currently…on wsm or wssm actions. I went down that route..

The WSM action is for the standard B&M cartridges. The WSSM action is for the “Super Short” B&M cartridges

Brutal because the B&M line-up are great cartridges. Was considering my 325WSM (LH) for conversion... That's not happening now. [emoji2361]

Have you considered other actions? I know Browning made WSSM rifles and their bolt utilizes an M16 style extractor. Quite reliable.

That's a beautiful rifle with a gorgeous stock. Well worth their asking price IMHO. I'd like to find a similarly priced rifle in .458 B&M. Well, dreams are allowed aren't they? LOL

Glad I’ve got my 416 B&M in LH but I was looking to build a non standard B&M but had to scrap it. Maybe @michael458 has an idea who might fill ssk’s shoes…

Last time I talked to Michael, via email, he noted Brian at SSK is looking to start making the B&M line for him. Hopefully, that has come to fruition by now!

It’s been more than a year and change, Micheal was courteous enough to loan me a 458 reamer and my smith blueprinted and reamed a Shilen barrel with WSM action. Rifle turned out excellent and this 458 B&M has served me well.

I appreciate those that have reached out but this thread is 3 years old so I am good now. I found my host and it is now a 458B&M Super Short.
