Leather and usable leahter scraps wanted! Ill buy or trade for plain ol cow hide or exotic stuff as ive been doing a bit of leather work after getting my first leather awl and a few other leather working tools. I think i am ready to make some nicer, usable items at this point. Figured id make some bullet slides, coin holder, tobacco pouch, front pocket ID/CC holders etc.
Kind of goofy the way i got into it but we have a couple pups that we bought these nice leather chew toys at about $15-$18 a pop and they were like sharks on them and had their way with the stitching etc. I couldnt bare to just throw them away because stitching had come undone and the lil chits would eat the stuffing if we didnt catch them right away and get them repaired. I got an awl and started repairing those toys for them and ive got the bug! Ive gotten pretty decent at it as well. Problem is no saddle makers around here anymore and buying blind on the internet has been hit and miss! All different thicknesses work as well.
Anyway....i will buy cow leather or exotics etc. Again, any and all shapes and any usable scraps as well as it doesnt take too much to make a little 2 shot holder for a sling or 4 or 5 shot slider for belt etc. Coin/tobacco pouches and all kinds of handy things id like to try my hand at.
I figured this might be the place to maybe find some pieces here and there.
