I am looking at a 7-10 day hunt with Nyala, waterbuck and bushbuck as primary trophies which i have not taken before.

Am I correct in understanding that the best province for Nyala, waterbuck, and bushbuck would be Natal?
I have taken good Kudu before but would not pass up another decent one if I come across it.

Also do estates/ranches/concessions/outfitters in Natal have good impala as well? I cannot resist hunting impala on every safari and would take at least 2.

Any other activities like waterfowl hunting or fishing would be a plus as well.

Looking to book for 2014

Thank you

You should check with Lake Safaris. This kind of hunt is their game and they have free range nyala. BTW, your hunt profile says you hunted in Kenya. Been closed since the late '70s, you must be an old timer!

I also will go with Trevor Lake and Lake Safaris. He hunts free range areas and he has some great trophy's. :)

If you look up his posts on here he provide some great photos of trophy taken.

yes, I have done a day upland bird hunting trip in kenya which is perfectly legal and extremely enjoyable. You should try it. Unless you are amongst those who only considers rifle hunting hunting...?

Well, no actually I am not of that ilk, not sure why you would intimate that. I was not accusing you of anything, merely curious. I was unaware that bird hunting had been re-legalized in Kenya. Good luck on your search.

I tried my darndest to get some bird hunting in and did not manage. Scatter guns, rifles or bows work for me.

Brickburn, very nice Nyala and Impala, Nyala is on the agenda this summer for me, can hardly wait!

Nyala are always on the agenda. :) Good luck.

Try Chamanzi Zulu Safaris. I've hunted with them twice and had a great time.

I was wondering if in this package could we add a Red Lechwe? I only recently discovered that these can be taken in ZA and I am very interested in a quality lechwe...

Well, I think if you went next door to the East Cape for a day or two it is quite possible to get a nice one..

...or move the entire hunt to the EC. With exception to the Nyala, the Eastern Cape can offer at least equal trophy quality on the Waterbuck and Bushbuck.
Have seen a very few places that can match our Waterbuck.

Plus the added benefit of Lechwe...

In my opinion the Limpopo valley offers the best Waterbuck and Bushbuck.Nyala is also very good(Kwazulu stays champion). The added benefit will be real good impala and monster kudus.

I smile every time I see this picture! Cannot walk past it in my living room without reliving that hunt.

Looking forward to an equally impressive nyala and bushbuck this July.

thanks Marius!

The Waterbuck that was never suppose to happen.....

yeah. and if that was the only animal I went home with on that trip, I'd still been happy.
Every single person that comes to my home stares at that beast.

Wish I'd have had my muzzleloader that day so Jim Shockey would have been pushed down the list on the biggest Waterbucks with a muzzleloader.
I might have just called him up. lol.

Hello Doug,
I am Philippe from France and plan to go hunting Caprivi in 2026, Oct.
I have read on AH you had some time in Vic Falls after hunting. May I ask you with whom you have planned / organized the Chobe NP tour and the different visits. (with my GF we will have 4 days and 3 nights there)
Thank in advance, I will appreciate your response.
Merci
Philippe
