Lots of outfits run around on horse back in the mountains here.
Outfitters up by Willmore Wilderness can take them in the back country and they will never see a vehicle, like the good old days.

Dear Brickburn:

We offer a horseback hunt for American elk in Utah. Hunts are conducted from a traditional spike camp deep in the mountains. The camp has wall tents along with one large dinning/kitchen tent. From here we head out each day with the horses to glass and stalk elk in the high country. Rough hunting but well worth the effort! This is a guaranteed hunt and starts at $3900.00. (If you do not harvest an elk you do not pay for the hunt) This will include airport pick-up, meals, beverages, horses, accommodation and more. We will take care of all details. Ed here again from EAI Outdoors with a quick follow up. I see that in your orginal post you were looking to hunt in May of 2012. There are no hunting seasons open in May in the US or Canada except perhaps spring bear and wild hogs. All of our elk and deer hunting is done in the fall from Sept through Jan depending on were you hunt. If your group can come in Sept or Oct you will find a lot more possibilities.

Thanks for offers. Got our hunt from horseback and we will try out, Namibia, Utah USA and BC Canada. Full reports will come as soon as hunts are done.
