WANTED: April 2017 Crocodile Hunt

Congrats and thanks for sharing!

You did good @Shannon1966 ! Where did you take this big guy and how far away was your shot!?

Shannon cheers
I'm so glad to learn you are real and congrats on a great croc I'm booked for next spring so would be interested in caliber, distance, solids or not. Perhaps a hunt blow by blow would be cool. It's fairly easy to understand how a post on April one with no follow up can be misconstrued. I'll back up on the bite me Again congrats

Shannon I would holler at @TMS. He has a wonderful concession in Mozambique with lots of crocs and big ones.

Will post pics with story line tomorrow. Very hard shot at 110 yards. But it's in the salt now

As promised, here are the pics from the hunt. I saw this croc head in a shop and it really made an impression on shot placement and how difficult the shot is when it is facing you. Not much room for error. You will also notice I had the guide show me where is the proper place to shoot on a neck shot. I used my Blaser 300 Win Mag with Hornady 185 gr. SST bullets. Do not use solids per the PH. Soft tips! He told me the croc did not even flinch. Not even a wag of the tail. Shot was between 100-110 yards shooting downhill from our vantage point. We made a blind across from the island on a hillside and had a great set. Look at far bank in last picture. You can see why people get eaten every day. These folks are fishing at the rivers edge. Two people were eaten the week before I got there in the same area. Hunt took place in Binga with about an 1.5 hour boat ride across Kariba to the Zambezi River. Lowveld Hunters (www.lowveldhunter.com) Talmage or Steven. @JWK Safaris set it all up (Adriaan Wepener). Cant wait for the next adventure in 4 weeks. Back in Zim for the Leo/Buff. Will have my hunting partner with me. My son!!!

Congratulations on your success.

What do you plan to do with the skin. Full mount or several pair of boots?

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.
