Contemplating this...Does anyone have a CZ550 in 300 H&H (or 300 win mag) like this that they would be willing to part with? I don't know what the cost would be to buy one now, may be too rich for my blood. Worth a shot though.

Otherwise, I thought about buying one of the CZ actions Wayne at AHR has for sale and piecing together the rest over time.

Have you looked at the Remington 721s? I was chatting with a member here and he said the 721s in 300 H&H are shooters (accurate). They are not luxurious rifles, but they can be found for under 1k. Just a though.

Any idea what Wayne is charging for those actions?

Waynes price for an action with his safety and trigger is super reasonable for what you’ll get, particularly compared to what a donor rifle would run you right now. I’ve a 300 win mag safari magnum that Wayne did a number 2 upgrade on for me and it’s a dream of a rifle. You’ll be happy having one built, even with lugging the weight around.

Wayne is charging $1000 for action and an additional $500 for 3 pos safety and trigger swap. A solid deal on both options.

That is a solid deal considering they are no longer made. Thank you!

I am really leaning that way, for the CZ action from Wayne that is. I could be waiting forever for a rifle to pop up again. I figure I can build as I have funds, buy the action, refund my account, buy a barrel, and so forth.
I did ask Wayne about those actions, and he recommended a Noah Hathorne in Plains Montana for the gunsmithing (barrel, feeding, etc.) Does anyone know this gunsmith? I cannot seem to find anything.

Hello, My wife and I hunted with Marius 2 years ago. He fit us into his schedule after a different outfitter "bailed" on us. He was always very good with communications and although we didn't end up meeting him personally, he called us multiple times during our hunt to make sure things were going well. We were very happy with him.

Reach out to the guys at Epic Outdoors.

They will steer you right for landowner tags and outfitters that have them.

I have held a membership with them for years and they are an invaluable resource.

Way better that asking random people on the internet...WAY better

Skydiver386,

Did you ever find your 30-06 CZ550? I own a fairly solid conditioned one, if you wanted to talk.
