Vortex Viper HD 5-25X50 SFP

Any thoughts on the Above scope? I need a scope for my new Sako 90 in .308.
PS I am a Vortex man. thanks

Good quality scope, but seems a bit over-powered and over-sized for that rifle. Myself, I'd probably look at something in the 2.5-10X range with a 40-44mm objective.

The Viper HD 2-10x42mm and 3-15x44mm models would be getting my attention.

I have several of the Viper HS-T 6x24x50. They are being discontinued and are on sale at Midway for $350. The HS-T isn't illuminated, though, and the zero stop is not a hard stop on zero; it just stops you close to zero. Don't know if the zero stop matters to you, though.

I have the HD in 3x15 and don't see a lot of difference in clarity, but I haven't had them side by side in low light conditions where it would show up.
