Rattlesnake Jack McIntyre with his children Martha and Albert, 1890's. In Sheridan County, Wyoming, a wolfer of note was S. A. "Rattlesnake Jack" McIntyre, who hunted in the Bighorns and from Ucross north to Montana in the late 1880's and early 1890's. In 1895, Rattlesnake Jack moved to northern Nebraska. Jack, who also for a time, ran a traveling snake show, moved to Buffalo after Nebraska authorities took his daughter Martha away from him as a result of his allowing her to play with his pet rattlesnakes. The authorities also attempted to take away his son Albert on the charges against the boy of "vagrancy and mendicancy." A mendicant is a beggar. Jack was allowed to keep custody of Albert only on the promise that he would not longer allow the boy to play with the snakes. Rattlesnake Jack often carried the snakes with him under his shirt. In Gillette, he created a stir when he released the snakes in a local saloon.

The (in)famous Seth Kinman (1815 – 1888) was an early settler of Humboldt County, California, a legendary pioneer and hunter based in Fort Humboldt, a famous chair maker, and a nationally recognized entertainer. He stood over 6 ft (1.83 m) tall and was known for his hunting prowess and his brutality toward bears and Indians. Kinman claimed to have shot a total of over 800 grizzly bears, and, in a single month, over 50 elk. He was also a hotel keeper, saloon keeper, and a musician who performed for President Lincoln on a fiddle made from the skull of a mule. Known for his publicity seeking, Kinman appeared as a stereotypical mountain man dressed in buckskins on the U.S. east coast and selling cartes de visites of himself and his famous chairs. The chairs were made from elkhorns and grizzly bear skins and given to U.S. Presidents.[3][4] Presidents so honored include James Buchanan, Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Johnson, and Rutherford Hayes. He may have had a special relationship with President Lincoln, appearing in at least two of Lincoln's funeral corteges, and claiming to have witnessed Lincoln's assassination. He died at 72. Cause of death? Accidental firearms discharge.

Sranantongo maroons, descendants of runaway black slaves from the jungles of Surinam, with a very large "bofru" as they call their Tapir (Tapirus terrestis) they hunted. Image taken in the 1885-1915 period, Dutch Guyana (n. Surinam). The Maroons are largely of west African descent that established themselves in the Central and this case South American mountains and jungles around colonial plantations they ran away from amd wage war with in the 17th-18th century. They continued to live in tribal villages in a similar manner to their African ancestors and heritage. Today, they remain the largest ethnic group in Surinam along with the Creoles, formerly Dutch Guyana.

Hello Zoey!
The Kouprey above was shot by Henri Jouin in Cambodia 1949. I believe the trophy was auctioned some years ago for several thousand Euro.
Best regards!
