I was a kid when I asked my Papa who he served with. His only reply was "The Bloody Bucket!"
It was years before I knew anything about the Hurtgen Forrest.

My other Grandfather used the term "straf" one day and I asked him what it meant. Gramps explanation included a Jap Zero.

My JROTC instructor in high school was a veteran of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. When he passed the family gave me a photo of him taken in some unknown valley in Korea. I cherish that photo.

Tomorrow happens to be the birthday of dear friend whom we honor on Memorial Day.

These are just a few of the things that come to my mind on the 11th of November.
My deepest respect and gratitude to all who have answered the call past, present, and future.

Thank You to all Veterans for your service to our country! Your service and sacrifice are always respected and appreciated.

PA National Guard. They fought with great valor during WW2 and trace their lineage back to the Revolutionary War (Benjamin Franklin’s Division)… they are a much heralded unit within the reserve component of our Army…

They got the bloody bucket nickname from the Germans because their unit patch loosely resembles a bucket and is bright red..

I do not remember him saying much about it but I know he was with them from Normandy until the end of the war. By the time I was old enough to really appreciate what he had been through he had passed.

Happy Veteran's Day with all of my gratitude for your service.

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
