I also did not want to hijack the previous threads on reloading.

I am trying to decide whether to use Hodgdon Varget or H4350 for developing loads in the .404, using Woodleigh 400 grain Weldcores. I have seen some very interesting data posted using various powders, including H4350, but no mention of Varget .

Is anyone out there using Varget for the .404? If so, any recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

The Woodleigh loading manual list charges with Varget in the .404 Jeffery for all bullet weights.
If for some reason I could not source Norma 203B or RE15 I would have to give it a try.

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.
