USA: My Nephews First Hunt

Bringing back good memories here :)

I am actually currently trying to straighten out our hunt plan for this year. Plan was for Christmas I would take him with me to Texas in February and he would shoot a ram. His mother is kind of worried about him traveling with me for about a week because I wont coddle him... I think we would be fine but if he did get home sick or something i'm not the most qualified to handle it. So I offered to have my sister accompany me and we would see the Alamo and whatever else to make it eductational as well. She's back peddling currently so unfortunately not sure.

I actually did a thermal hog hunt in Georgia last weekend and guide was a great guy. I put call in yesterday to see about bringing my nephew out to run dogs. Only three hours from his house so theres no home sickness issues. I am still going to Texas in February for Javelina and hogs and will be trying my best to get him to come with. I'll def put something up regardless of where we end up

Your report reminds me of my two older grandsons first hog hunt. Both of them got a hog, but the youngest who was 14 at the time just had to tell everyone on camp about his "perfect shot." Now, several years later, he sits alone in his blind and this year passed on a questionable shot. The time his father and I have spent with him at the range and or talking about the ethics of a clean kill was well worth it. I wholeheartedly agree with one of the earlier posts that you now have a hunting buddy for life. As a hunter, a dad and Opa (German for Grandpa) I can say that nothing has given me greater pleasure than knowing I have passed on my "passion" to future generations.

+1 Great to deal with. I purchased custom rifle. No issues.

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary

Booked with Harold Grinde - Gana River - they sure kill some good ones - who'd you get set up with?
