Agree Royal, the first person caught up in this BS should be the spring board all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary. All of the hunting organizations need to start their war chests specifically for this purpose now, not wait until it happens!

If our goal was to defeat Clinton - one I whole heartedly support -the Republican Party could not have picked a more flawed candidate. I think I probably represent a fairly tick wedge of voters who are for a strong defense, economic rationalism, and who are highly critical of Socialist Utopianism. And, like them, I absolutely despise Donald Trump. Three or four of our potential candidates would be up 7-14 points in this election, and on the verge of a landslide victory with a dominating position in both houses. Instead, we get this unguided mouth on two legs who is probably the only person on the planet who could lose to Hillary this cycle. I'll probably hold my nose as tight as I can and vote for him, but I'm going to need a shower afterwards.

You are absolutely right. I voted two weeks ago and sent my ballot in through Camp Bondsteel in Kosovo. I voted for Trump, but I hated it! I came very close to not voting at all. The thing is, if he does win, which I seriously doubt, I will still be disappointed. A choice between an idiot and a criminal! How did we ever get here?

Erik, you are partially right and partially wrong. The President gets to nominate the SCOTUS justices, the Senate has to approve them, or it doesn't happen. And in the policies/regulations of USFW, as this thread is discussing, these will be due process issues if brought before the court. This potentially is a much broader issue than second amendment interpretations, which I am sure many that follow this site would disagree with me. My point is that you could have a justice that is hard left on guns, and still be hard right on due process. And as far as the SCOTUS pendulum goes, it has constantly moved from left to right and right to left throughout the history of our country! Whether that is good or bad depends where you stand at a particular time in history. That is not going to change regardless of who is elected President.

I understand how that works, the fact is though the senate can only drag it out so long. They've been successful this far but.... They've had an election year and been able to say they don't want a lame duck pres making the nomination.
As far as the pendulum is concerned, believe me I've seen it swing both ways. The problem is those on the left will cut their noses off despite their face. Not to mention to the left things like search and seizure and due process only count when its convienant.

The Republican part did not pick Trump, we did. The party did not want Trump as the candidate, he won that spot by getting us to vote for him.

My point is that I didn't vote for him - I frankly despise him - and yet, to stop Hillary, I am stuck with him. And the 37% who did support him better hope another 12% to 15% of us can bring ourselves to pull that lever.

Agree, except that none of the others would be up 7-14 points, will not loose both houses.

But back to the original topic, I have skimmed the document and the 5 comments received. (4 against and 1 for {HSUS/HSI of course}). I am not so sure that USFWS will prevail on a court challenge to this change.
