Dwight, the Kuhl Rydr pants are superb, flexible, breathable, and tough. Did you check those out? They are far from skinny jeans no matter how they look.

I might try them sometime but from the pictures it looks like they have a pretty short rise. I require a very long rise, in fact I cannot wear almost any pants or shorts without serious alterations.
