Unprovoked Cape Buffalo Charge

Yes we do, it is quite clear from the muzzle blast first shot is from the left second shot is from the right. Unless they swapped around behind the cameraman, the PH stopped and killed the buffalo from the right hand side....

Thanks for that clarification. From my laptop, I couldn't tell. Not enough fidelity in the audio I guess for that to come through.

It's a moot point, but I wonder had the hunter fired another shot if he'd have stopped him. As it is, he was apparently backstopped by the PH, so we'll never know. Moreover, HE'LL never know.

My main point is the shooting started way too late for whatever reason and it could have turned ugly real fast. No need to have waited so long before the first shot, in which case there would probably not have been a charge situation to start with and it would have been much safer...

I commend the camera man he did an excellent job.....

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.
