UGANDA: Uganda Wildlife Systems Buffalo Hunt Report 2024

Great question, and I do not have that answer. The 3 guides in camp said they called them cape buffalo. And from all of the buffalo I saw, I would say there was no difference in the other cape buffalo I have taken. If I understand it correctly, Nile buffalo have less drop and a more squarish top.....these were more of the classic cape buffalo I've taken in Zimbabwe.

It's hard to tell the difference to me too. Mine from Uganda was the Nile variety. My understanding is the head gear is little smaller too. But from what I could tell, lots of overlap. Uganda as I understand it have both Nile and Cape, so I guess you'd have to ask the expert while there.

Congrats on two old, great bulls!

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.
