UGANDA: Epic Safari With JKO HUNTING SAFARIS

Hi @375Fox, sorry I missed your previous ask. Yes, I also saw Patterson Eland, Topi and East Africa Grimm Duiker. He also has good success with East Africa Sitatunga but we did not hang out by the swamp areas much so I did not actually see one. You can also hunt leopard there but they are not exportable to the U.S. so it is mainly European clients that hunt leopard there. But he is very successful with leopard and shot a monster a few months before I arrived.
That’s really good to hear. Nile buffalo is of limited interest to me, but I’d like to see Uganda. This hunt seems to have some good pricing and an eland along with big waterbuck and bushbuck would justify the effort to get there.

Getting to Entebbe was actually fairly easy for us. I flew to Austin to meet up with @AZ KJ, a longtime friend. Spent a day or two there, then we drove to Houston. Qatar Airway for us to Doha, spent some $$ on a hotel room to get a good snooze. Relatively short flight from there to Entebbe. No more difficult then getting to South Africa.

Camp is roughly a 5 hour drive from there and quite scenic, Uganda is a beautiful country.

@375Fox, not sure where you live in Pennsylvania but if you can easily get to Newark you can fly Turkish Air to Istanbul and then Istanbul to Entebbe. Despite my troubles on this trip with Turkish canceling the flight, it is a pretty good way to get there and the layover in Istanbul is not that long. I have flown Turkish to Africa on a few occasions and not had any troubles and they are good with transporting firearms.

What an amazing trip and great write up. Thanks for sharing all the details from the great stalks, awesome animals and all the other details that make any trip to Africa a lifetime memory.
All three of those Impala are incredible. Between you and @cpr0312, I'm dying to have one of those East African monsters on my wall.

Thanks @MAdcox, it was a great hunt and if you are interested in hunting Uganda you should check out what Jacques has to offer. I think you will enjoy the hunting and the people.

As everyone else has already stated - what an amazing hunt and harvests. I thought the first impala was big. They just kept getting bigger every time! EA sure has larger specimens than SA, at least larger than any we saw.

Your waterbuck is awesome. I had no idea they could have such a beautiful hide to them. The few I have seen did not look that nice. I loved the coloration. For sure one I will keep an eye out for one on future trips.

Thanks for the narrative and fantastic pics.

Thanks @ILDRHNTR. I really love Waterbucks, I have 3 of them now, a Common, a Uganda Defassa and a Crawshay's Defassa. I think they make great trophies. I hope you are able to harvest a very nice one on a future trip.
