Twenty Four Lions will be the seed population

Absolutely tragic. But, what a blessing he was being monitored by such a caring crew.

Poaching took one of our lions. You can help us protect the others.
In a perfect world, we would like to double our efforts to protect our lions from poaching. But we need your support to do this. Your donation will help fund aerial patrols and ranger equipment to help reverse the effects that civil war and poaching have had on the Zambeze Delta of Mozambique.

An update from the field:
Our lions continue to do well, with a majority of them staying in areas where there are lots of prey. Last week we were able to get our eyes on all but one, but her collar data suggests that she's doing just fine. Our lone male appears to be settling down since the loss of his brother and is in good condition.

This broken GPS tracker gave us a bit of a scare! After noticing that the data showed another one of our lions as stationary for a long period, our team was concerned and immediately set out to find the lion and ensure it was ok. Turns out, the GPS tracker on its collar had fallen off. We found the tracker and verified that all of the lions are doing well. False alarm!

It's time to play where's Waldo:
A view from our aerial patrols—how many lions do you see?

And who is this fella?
We got a big surprise on our aerial flight today. One of our female lions had wandered away from her normal group and we wanted to check on her to make sure everything was ok. When we found her, we found that she wasn’t alone. To our surprise, she had a boyfriend! A nomadic male lion, likely from a local park, had joined her.
Looks like we’re back to Twenty Four Lions!

YES
My friend from Marromeu Safaris sent me these photos!
This is a lioness that was released in Coutada 10 and now seems to have joined a male lion
Hopefully they know how to make babies!
Very nice.

My apologies I have been slacking on the updates. I leave for a Leopard hunt in Namibia tomorrow so my focus has been on getting ready.

But here we go:

1) Can you see the warthog in this picture?

Our lions are forming several different social groups. This group of five are often found together, enjoying the cooler weather and a nice meal.

We rely on GPS collars to track the lions and make sure they’re doing well. But we don’t always get in the air to find them — we travel by land too!
