The Texas Trophy Hunters Outdoors Extravaganza was a great show. Watch for this one to grow!

We thoroughly enjoyed it both as an exhibitor and as a consumer. We’ll definitely be back next year.

It's going to be bigger and better!

I blew it off but considering how poorly DSC in ATL was managed and attended, I will go next year to TTHA.

Yep , Texas needs the grand pubha of shows here ! Next year will be great
Nashville and Atlanta just aren’t very appealing to me and mi amigo’s
The money we would have spent on travel and accommodations, we went to Mexico tuna fishing instead ( should have just bankrolled it back for Mozambique 2026 maybe?) sure was fun in the sun though!
And after hearing about the weather, disorganization, food court @ DSc glad we were right

@Philip Glass, you are correct, considering SCI/TTHA next year has booked "F" which will give them the same footprint that DSC used in KBH. I am afraid that DSC decision to head to Atlanta for 5 years will be the death knoll for DSC. 2030 will be interesting with DSC and SCI/TTHA both booked in Dallas.

@Philip Glass
How did this TTHA show compare in size and exhibitor attendance to the last couple of DSC shows ?
What was the entry cost per day, and for the full show ?
If I'm not mistaken the venue interior looks to be the KBH convention floor .... ?
Cheers

Yes it was at the undisturbed KBH. It was maybe half the size of DSC. I am not sure on the number of booths but there was a great variety of exhibitors. It had far more attendees than DSC from what I could tell. Reports are that DSC only had a grand total of around 800 attendees. It was $35 for a TTHA membership and full access all three days or $65 for TTHA and SCI memberships and entry.
It will be back next year.

Sir, thankyou for that info. Good to hear they did well and a great pity DSC seems to have taken a poor detour. Can't argue that TTHA attendance costs are reasonable and I would agree they could see potential growth if some exhibitors are seriously looking for a DSC alternative. I want to get back to the USA for another hunting show and need to choose which one. Have always liked and enjoyed Texas and Dallas is OK, so .....

So just got back from SCI Nashville. Heard lots of rumors that DSC had paid out their penalty in Atlanta and are coming back to TX? Anyone hear anything solid?

Sorry, no news. But it's doubtful that DSC "bought out" their contract for next year, maybe 2026 and beyond. However, it's hard to get convention dates as those are booked years out. I think the outfitters and others will be back next year, the weather played a major factor in attendance beyond DSC control. Another bad year next year, that's another story. I really don't think they are going to get the foot traffic that Dallas draws in Atlanta despite the number of hunters within driving distance of Atlanta.

Just rumors but word is some kind of partnership may be forged with Houston Safari Club. It will not be in Atlanta next year. Other rumors that board members resigned etc but who knows. It will be some time before the dust settles on this one. I've heard all kinds of stuff that I won't repeat until confirmed.

Yeah there was a ton of rumors, but San Antonio was getting more buzz by Friday Afternoon as well. I think it will be a few months before there is anything concrete.

I’ve spent a lot of time on here defending Atlanta from what I think is a lot of unfair criticism regarding the city. It’s a great place and has a lot to offer as a convention destination.

That being said, there is no greater concentration of travel sportsman anywhere compared to Texas. Also, given the Texas roots, I’m not sure I could form a good argument for moving DSC out of Texas absent absolute necessity.

I know nothing of the politics or players at DSC.

I attended and was very impressed with the international flair throughout the show. The crowd was bigger than I anticipated and the outfitters seemed very upbeat, especially when compared to the news coming in hourly from the fiasco that was happening in Atlanta. Congrats to SCI and TTH for putting such a great event on!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
