Trijicon RMO or SRO which is better for DG double rifle?

@Mark A Ouellette is our master with a doctorate on this subject. Mark my good friend please direct the op to your excellent tutorial on this subject

Have you considered the RCR? I prefer a closed emitter when really exposed to the elements. I’ve had debris and mud collect in the RMR and SRO which can block the emitter. If not, I like the SROs larger window while hunting. By design, the RMR is more durable although I haven’t heard of SROs failing.

Trijicon makes a heck of a great optic but...

The MRO above is a pretty big reflex sight! It will be like strapping a brick on top of your double rifle barrels!

Stick with an RMR, SRO, or closed emitter RCR as Samson suggested above.
Here's a video on the RCR:

Here is a rather long thread on Reflex sights for Dangerour Game Rifles

Here's an RMR next to a RCR:

Here's a short thread

I do however love Aimpoint H1 and the newer H2.
I think these are great sights and while bigger than an RMR or RCR, are much smaller than an SRO!

The RMR by design is more robost and should take some "bangs" better than SRO due to the intentional shape. The SRO is nice in that it has a larger window.

On a night stand pistol I hade a little more difficulty deciding but for my 458 it was easy to choose the RMR.

My opinion is that lined up on a stock the dot is so easy to find on the RMR that the SRO's larger window is not much if any advantage at all. On a pistol, the dot is easier to find on the SRO.

Dangerous game rifle - RMR
Combat/Carry/Duty pistol - RMR
Recreational/Non-carry pistol - Personal preference

There is a sro torture video on you tube. Guy bangs sro against sterl rail trows it 40 yards and drops it from 5 feet. No damage.

I have an AimPoint T2 (titanium cousin of the H2) on my AR and love it. I'd choose it again for a DG specifically for hunting elephant because it's that quick and durable. If you are looking to put it on a double rifle, it may not look the part but the performance will be there. The only other RDO's I'd recommend are from Trijicon.

We all have different eyes and what works for one person may not work for another. Applications and intended uses will also play a factor. The biggest things I've found to concern myself with is having a top quality optic that is extremely durable. Offerings from Aimpoint and Trijicon have proven themselves worthy in these areas.

I love my SRO’s for the bigger screen but all of them have the Jagerworks metal jackets/covers which solved the durability concerns

I think the Trijicon RMR Dual Illuminated model is extremely rugged. The Dual-Illuminated RMR uses fiber optics and tritium to illuminate the reticle. The Dual Illuminated is battery free, has no external adjustments and no programmable features. The potential problem is it is only offered in 9 MOA.

Nice Report! Im about to pull the trigger on booking the LDE with Patrick. I have been talking about it with him for about 3 yrs now. Romain hit me up the other day with an offer I can't refuse for 2027.

Andrew, I commented that your on 375 H&H for sale was the fair price.

Like I commented, my classic stainless has the original 24” barrel.

Did you buy yours with the barrel already cut down to 21” or did you do it (or a gunsmith)?

You might have edited your post on the PH in the Bubye. I know the PH and is a wonderful person and a fmaily man and runs a succesful business in Zim and just doesn't want the attention that the internet offers, the ugly kind.
