Trophy Room Build after 45 years of hunting

Many thanks to all for the kind words and compliments, it is well beyond anything I ever imagined.

As for the knee, I’m two weeks in, Doc said I am doing well and on my way to full recovery. I’ll remain diligent to the therapy so I can get back to the field.

Hope to see y’all down at the ranch one day in the future.

SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS SOONER BUT TIME FLYS.
HAD THE PLEASURE OF SPENDING A FEW DAYS WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS AT THE RESERVE RANCH EARLIER THIS MONTH. HAD A GREAT TIME, HARVESTED SOME NICE ANIMALS INCLUDING A 320" CLASS RED STAG I WILL POST PICTS AND STORY OF IN AN APPROPRIATE THREAD.
GOT TO WALK THROUGH THIS MAGNIFICANT TROPHY ROOM FIRST HAND (STILL HAD THAT "NEW CAR"SMELL) AND I CAN TELL YOU IT IS MUCH BETTER IN PERSON! ONLY THING THAT COULD HAVE MADE IT BETTER WAS IF @JES COULD HAVE BEEN THERE TO TELL US SOME OF THE STORIES, HAVE TO SAVE THAT FOR NEXT TIME.

PS: JOHN ED, LEFT A BOTTLE OF CUBAN RUM, SOME OF MY FAVORITE CIGARS AND A COPY OF "BAAGH SHIKARI" THE LAST TIGER HUNTER ON THE BAR FOR YOU, HOPE YOU GET THEM BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE DOES!

Thank you Seth, sorry I couldn’t be there and sure look forward to your next visit. I heard about the gifts from my sons, I sure appreciate you thinking of me. I plan on sipping that rum with one of your smokes after Christmas!

Glad y’all had a good hunt and overall enjoyable experience.

John Ed

A few additions before I left the ranch last weekend. We got a big delivery from the taxidermist last week and the boys were down for the Fourth and we got them up.

Both sub species of Sable and all four sub species of Roan

So jealous, sub species of a species I have yet to hunt, roan. I am truly glad that my home Province of BC provided the opportunity and success on your moose. I spent 5 hrs dreaming and admiring in awe at Mr Shockey's Hand of Man the other day (not my first visit), I do think I could spend more time in your memory room.

Outstanding Sir.

I've never had much interest in hunting a waterbuck, but after seeing yours I might change my mind

Beautiful mounts and nicely displayed

I continue to be amazed and beginning to appreciate why you built your trophy room on such a scale.
Achievements for you and your family to be proud of.
Simply wonderful and thankyou for keeping us all updated.

Fantastic! Just fantastic!

Many thanks to all the AH Brethren for their kind words. I have been very blessed and built the room so family, friends and visiting clients can come, relax and enjoy the space.

If you are ever in the South Texas (Uvalde) neighborhood, please message me and stop by for a visit - the bar is always open!

I personally think Waterbuck are one of the most underrated Plains Game animals in Africa. They provide a great hunt, are a blast to stalk, are widely dispersed, and aren’t in every African hunters trophy room like a Kudu, Zebra, Impala, or Wildebeest.

I’ll likely try to hunt a Crawshay’s Defassa Waterbuck over the next two weeks while in Zambia if given the opportunity. I’ve also put a Waterbuck on my 2026 Mozambique License for my Coutada 11 hunt.

Tell me about it, I couldn’t pass on this big boy. :ROFLMAO:

Waterbuck are fun and big ones are not standing around on every corner. I liked the mass on this one I took with Craig Boddington...

Good choice to add a waterbuck in Coutada 11, I walked away from some giants in Coutada 10 and have regretted it ever since. I did get an outstanding bull in 2018 hunting with Game 4 Africa to rectify the situation.

Hemmingway "Out of Africa" dinner for our clients

We love going the extra mile for our clients. The best feeling in the world is our clients going "Wow! this is amazing thank you"
Having had a successful hunt, having happy clients leave camp. There is nothing better.
Knowing that they will return again next year as a friend.
