After a very enjoyable hunt in South Africa last August my friends and I were told we would have our trophies in January, which i thought was a little long. Being a taxidermist I usually receive shipments in less time. In February we were told they were being picked up and shipped that month. Now they tell me that nothing is being shipped because of a lockdown due to the virus. Is this the case? Anyone else having a problem?

Yes I also have a trophy shipment waiting for the lockdown to end.

Yes it is the case. I have a shipment in Namibia ready to go as soon as this thing lifts and flights start flying again. My trophies in South Africa can’t start dip and pack until lockdown ends.

I also have a shipment that should have been here long ago. They screwed up the CITES export permit and had to redo it. They say they are working on it but who knows!
Remember Africa shuts down for the entire month of December so that also slows us down.
I am hoping to hear something soon.

Yep, that's the problem. Everything is locked down from the exporter to the offices issuing permits to the aircraft. I have a shipment packed and waiting in Port Elizabeth.

Yes all shipping out of SA is halted. Even then, doing an Aug hunt and getting them in Jan would have been pretty quick. As already noted SA shuts down for one month from first week of Dec through first week of Jan. I believe the regulations require no animal can be exported before 65-70 days as the quickest.

Also with the same problem :(

Trophies in Windhoek waiting for flights to resume....

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
