Great info, however a person needs to make sure that when they take their rifle into the US Customs office that they will accept a form printed off of the internet.
When I first went in to get my first 4457 the agent refused to use the form that I had printed and where I had listed the items on it myself. He did however take my form to his office and used it to make out his stock form which he then gave me.
With RSA now insisting that we use the latest form per date, its crucial that the latest is used. If the agent didn't know that or care, he might hand you a form not acceptable to RSA.
Every time I've gone to CBP they give me a blank form and I fill it out there in the office. Plus they check my guns for make, model, caliber, serial number which is OK with me. It ensures that the info is correct and there will be no problems coming home.
I have done it both ways, showed up with a completed form for them to compare and have used the form handed to me as well. No problems either way. The local guys are usually pretty good, its when you get to an airport....

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?
