Toyota trucks pictures and stories

If I may... Land Cruiser fanatic

Mine's the beige HZ79, 4.2l normally-aspirated diesel. You'll see quite a few of these in Southern Africa.

The aluminium canopy is also a common sight in these parts, geared for over-landing with everything you need to circumnavigate the continent.

Pics #1 and #3 were taken near my hometown in Western Namibia and #2 on the aptly named Land Cruiser Pass, Damaraland (Namibia).

Also in the picture is a mate's white Land Cruiser FJ40, also no stranger to farms in our area as well as and a blue Land Cruiser 80-series.

You're likely to be carted around on either of the two pickups on an African Hunt.

The Cruisers are incredibly robust and reliable and it's not uncommon to see 30-year old plus vehicles still used as day-to-day workhorses.

The first and the last! The 'Landy' was groaning with a Zebra stallion and 4 pax in back at most! The Cruiser, happy with an ungutted Buff and 6 pax on board!

What do you mean by a 'power gate'?

loading 2.jpg This was for me the easiest way! A loading board which trebled as a table top, and a bench or shooting platform right on the top and back of the truck! The winch is a geared boat hand winch. I distrust electric winches mostly! Always fun to include the client in the loading procedures!

Bluey, seeing that there were five guys on the back with the giraffe on our way back to camp, the steering was definitely to light for general liking. Late afternoon, not wanting to skin in the bush without lights, so just decided to take a chance.

Ok i will give you credit but You will still be wearing a pink shirt when i get there.I would have said no way would a girafee fit in the back of that truck.

Well, if you are a Jeep guy, then you will know about the friendly rivalry with landrover and their misguided owners....[lol]
[I'm sure you all know the history of Jeep and that landrover and the first land cruisers were copies of Jeeps....!?]:icecream:

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
