Totally Awesome Taxidermy

Yes, I love the croc too. I don't have room for that one either!

Jim is a GREAT Taxidermist, my sons and I have used him before and will be using him after our safari in August. For those of you looking for a Taxidermist I can whole-heartedly say "look no further. As I mentioned to Charlie Austin on our way back to Kansas City apart from being a good Taxidermist Jim is a "good ole boy." You know the kind of guy you'd like to hunt, fish or have a beer with. By the way, Jim's prices for trophies delivered to your door are very comparable to the larger more reputable Taxidermists in Africa. In fact if you get 10 or more animals done he is cheaper.

Art,

Do you have a close up of the buff floor pedestals?
Go to the "link" posted in the comment below yours. Follow the prompts to see all of the trophies in Jim's Gallery.

Spots is what I will be taking to Jim next, Charlie. I am booked with Somerby Safaris for a combo leopard and buff hunt in Zim for May of 17. Hopefully USFWS doesn't do something stupid and ban leopard before I can pull this off! I would love to have a leopard mounted like Jim has in his shop, the one in the top of the tree. Sadly, not enough space in the trophy room.

Custom I agree with you. Hope I can pull off the Leopard hunt before USFW change the rules!

I fear our country's choice for the next POTUS will have a significant impact on whether or when that may happen. I am not optimistic about the future.

I'll try the zebra and kudu pictures again

Good job Art!

Yes sir @Shootist43 ,

I checked out the website and all the pics, nice stuff

My kudu from my first safari is very similar to the pedestal mount above, except I had Jim add the backskin to the some of the panels in the pedestal itself. It's on his website if you scroll through his African gallery. I thought it turned out really well and he has done it for other customers since.

So Saturday was a week ago when Art and his dad and I went down to Billings MO we took my Blue Wildebeest to Jim. You see the trophy fell off the wall late last year when I stupidly moved it to make room for other trophies. In doing so the the right horn broke completely off and the tip of the left horn shattered. I asked Jim if he could fix it for me! Well yesterday the wife and I stopped by to see his trophy room and much to my pleasure Jim had already finished the repairs. Folks I tell you that there is no way anyone could tell that damage had ever been done.

So my Blue Wildebeest, the first African trophy I ever took, is back up on the wall in the basement.
Jim was incredibly fair in what he charged for his services. And get this folks I have never been his customer before.
Guess who will be doing my Zimbabwe Leopard if I am lucky enough to get one!

Three more!

Charlie,

Glad you got it fixed so fast, thanks for posting more pics also!

Looks great, Charlie. Do you have a leopard trip booked? I am headed to southern Zim in 2017.

Great looking rug!

Good luck, Charlie! I hope you bring one back for Jim to mount.

I'm glad Jim was able to fix your trophy. Using a colloquial American expression regarding the experience and or competence of an individual "it's plain to see that this ain't his first rodeo." If I don't get the chance to see you before you go off hunting "spots" I wish you luck and hopefully another memorable hunt.

Thank you Mr Lambert. I will get your hat to Art!

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
