A good book, a hunting manual above all, not a novel. The only book about hunting in Africa that I bought in my life. In the late 1990s, before I went to hunt elephants, I buy it to learn what an elephant looked like and where I have to shoot. Which was the best cartridge to use was clear before and Tony Sanchez Arino just confirmed my choice.

I don't read novels or reports about hunting in Africa, but I do enjoy articles about practical aspects of hunting in Africa, especially when it comes to hunting dangerous game. Tony Sanchez Arino is therefore a very credible author to me, without sponsors clearly revealed. He also has an experience that goes back to times that none of nowadays most admired and sponsored authors no longer have. I got to know him by name through the magazine HATARI TIMES through the articles by Harald Wolf and from himself. All of this also reactivated my love from the sixties for the cartridge 500 Jeffery. I never met him myself, but I once hunted in an area near the Gonarhezou NP in the south of Zimbabwe while he was accompanying a client on an elephant hunt in the adjacent concession of "Jannie" Meyer senior.

I just saw Budsgunshop.com has both the guide gun and the African for $1150. FWIW - I bought both and decided to use the Guide gun - I restocked it in a Bell and Carlson stock and I added the Alaska arms floor plate to add a round. I wanted the shorter barrel as I will use a suppressor. I wont go lower than $1100, but I will ship it and no sales tax.

Let me know if you are interested
