I Always tip the Permits Staff.

I always tip them at least a couple hundred rand.
Quick story: On one trip to South Africa, I had my 4457 paper clipped at the back of all my SAPS documents. When I checked in for my departing flight the paperwork was checked and I forgot to get my 4457 out of the bundle of paperwork, which the agent kept When I got to the gate, I realized it and found one of the guys at the Delta gate. He went back to SAPS and got my 4457 and brought it to me just as I boarded the return flight. Whew! He got all the rand currency I had left as a tip--not sure how much it was--several hundred rand, but he saved me on my 4457. Lesson learned--treat the 4457 like your rifle's passport and keep it close--also put a copy in the rifle case.

I used them on my one and only trip, and will again next month. We used their VIP service and were met at the plane and our hand was held through customs and baggage claim. He also made sure my rifle made it off the plane. I gave that gentleman a $20 tip.

Then we were met by the nice helpful couple who helped us get the rifle checked out at the police station and then they walked with us to the City Lodge front desk where we checked in. I also gave them $20.

I don't know if this is in line or not. I'd also like to hear others' opinions.

I have tipped them every time I have used them..

Wonderfully pleasant people that have made the SAPS process painless and easy for me each and every hunt...

Anna and Marius were very helpful to us several times. I tipped them considerably more than $20.

We have used riflepermits about 7 times and have always gave a tip. Their services are much appreciated and always ensures a nice smooth experience with firearms.

Absolutely tip them. Their service is fantastic. Gilbert took me to the front of a line at least 20 deep.

I only used them once but they were the sweetest couple. I don't remember if I tipped them or not but certainly hope I did.

I'M A DRUNK AND MY WIFE WILL PRETEND LIKE SHE IS TRYING TO KEEP UP SO I DESPISE TIPPING 18%-20% ON A BILL THAT WAS HALF BOOZE IN THE USA, BUT FOR THE PERSONALIZED SERVICE ONE GETS FROM THE PERMIT PEOPLE I TRY TO BE VERY GENEROUS.

I definitely tipped Gilbert last time he picked me up from the airport. I also tipped him on the way to the Eastern Cape, he was amazing. Worked his magic and got me to the front of the line and checked in quickly. Worth every Penny!

Gilbert must be the well dressed gentleman who met us at the plane. He was fantastic.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris
