I agree with all of us who say we need to get our house in order first. Hunters need to see that we are all on a continuum - they might start at the lions, and then the elephants, and the rhinos, but make no mistake, they also want to stop the deer and the elk. We need to work together.

As for me, I sit here, at my computer, getting more and more frustrated, asking myself - what are you doing about this? I certainly have the conversations as they come up with people I meet, but that's frankly not enough. So time to start some real thinking.

All of us pal. I got confronted by an anti at the show in Toronto this year. That's basically like someone coming into your house and giving you s**t.
So, many would ask, why SCI are not doing more. I would like to hear what members feel should be done more by SCI.

If you read the monthly SCI newsletter, there are pages full of lawsuits SCI is a part of. Perhaps they do not publicize their activities enough?

The challenge we face as hunters is that we are portrayed as cruel and unethical by the media. Why: because negative emotion sells....the more negative the story = more emotional reaction = more papers sell, or hits happen on their respective websites. The media has never been gun friendly because it doesn't "sell". If story is gun negative = people are all over it. I have stacks and stacks of American Rifleman magazines I've kept from when I lived in the US. The have two or three pages where firearms were used to protect oneself or family of used to thwart crime. I'm guessing maybe 1% of those stories would have shown up in the media. There was a news program a couple of years ago in the US that only reported positive news stories. I think it lasted a year or two. I realize that's a bit off topic but you get the idea.

Brickburn is doing a hell of a job working to combat the "forces of darkness" as I like to call them. People are telling him "well done", "keep up the good work" "nice job" etc. That's great but those that encourage also need to act. Some of you are judging by previous postings. The more the merrier. What ever relevant information Brickburn posts I immediately post on Facebook and some other forums that I belong to.

I've joined PETA and have become a real pain in the ass. I see all the Facebook posts now so I can see what's going on and respond in kind D). They are some kind of f****d up people. Reminds me of a religious cult. I wonder if the grand poo bah said "lets all drink this poison because if we do the animals can inherit the earth" they would do it?

I have no idea what the promoter is expecting. Other than the fact that they did not post the address on their website and sent it to a confidential email that I provided them as a past participant.

I'll respect their choice.
