Since I first watched Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom I have dreamed of hunting Africa. Over a year of planning, exercise, loosing weight, shooting multiple rifles to decide which two make the cut, testing different ammo from a bench, ton of shooting from 3 different types of standing sticks, breaking in new boots, packing, unpacking, reducing what I am taking and repacking. Except for some very small details I am already to go for my first Safari in South Africa is just over two weeks.
Been on a ton of whitetail and hog hunts and a few western Elk, mule deer and bear hunts. Always get excited but don't ever remember being this excited for anything. Did anyone else feel like time slowed down and barely creeped along as their Safari was getting closer? The last few weeks seem like months.

My first trip was in April 2021 with all of the Covid BS ongoing but you could finally go to South Africa. Scrambled to get my two vaccine shots before I left the US, anything to help to finally get to the Eastern Cape after being postponed in 2020. I would love to do that trip over again just to experience it (minus the Moderna vaccines). Had a fantastic time.
Congrats and wishing you a great trip! Look forward to reading your mandatory hunt report!

Going to Eastern Cape myself. Will post trip report as soon as I digest my hunt. Thanks for the encouragement.

Absolutely. Sounds like you're doing all of the right things, especially shooting off sticks (I did not do that enough). I had a good friend I worked with at the time, and he made it worse by asking me about the trip (I swear) every day from 3 weeks out. Timing really dragged from then on.
I subsequently punished him by constantly giving him hunt descriptions of every animal I hunted and what it was like being in Africa for a first-timer hunting Africa, for the next 2 weeks when I got home. Lol

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
