Thinning The Herd Verney Carron 450/400 Double Rifle

Good afternoon.

Over the holidays I was going through the safe and will be thinning the herd so to speak for some rifles I have in crossover power bands.

I have decided to let my VC 450/400 O/U double rifle go. It shoot my developed loads with Aframes, 400gr CEB, hornaday DGX/DGS to the same POI with 4 shots into 2 in at 50. With it comes a set of CH4D loading dies, 40 rounds of new factory brass, 2 boxes of factory DGX, and 250 rounds of reloads i developed for this double. The factory hard case is included.

I have one just like it. It’s a great shooting rifle. For me it handles very naturally. It is a very shootable double.

I got it in a 3 way trade (500BPE for this and a 9.3x74) and was planning on just shooting a box of ammo through it and trading it but darn did it shoot so function won over appearance. The only reason I am selling it is that it and my 500/416 both fit into that small big bore power band and I have more 416 stuff than 410. And both rifles deserve to be taken out and hunted.

@Andrew62 It is 15in. The nice thing about most European doubles is that they come with a longer LOP so that for guys like me they fit and the stocks can be shortened to fit folks with a shorter LOP.
