Thinking About Africa? READ THIS!

As of yet I remain uninfected. I have wrapped myself in bubble wrap, inside a plastic bubble. Hopefully I will remain safe from this bug.

Bad news Buster - this bug eats polyethylene for breakfast!

*frantically scratching arm* I need my FIX!

Yep, face it, stick a fork in yourself, you're done. :ROFLMAO:

Yes Sir you are correct!
I have been infected by this disease. I have been home 11 days since my first trip. I have thought about it every day. I already have quote on a 2019 trip from PH and just waiting on Delta to post up June flight schedules to get a ticket and then we set dates for June 2019 hunt. Africa is addicting and so is AH. Wish I had made a trip years ago. At least I am single and dont have wife and kids to support. Just my habit

Update. I guess I got infected bad on my first trip in June. Dates are set and plane tickets purchased for 2019 trip. 305 days till departure but who’s counting

Then 304 days, then 303 days, 302 days, 301 days................................................................................................................then 1 day and "did I forget anything"? Consider attending a hunting expo to alleviate some of the pain.:ROFLMAO:

Africa is a very well known place for hunting. There are lots of professional hunters come here for the purpose of hunting. I will go there next year.

Have planned every subsequent trip to Africa on the flight home...okay that's lie...we were planning next year while we were still there this year!
You have a problem...:-)

There is less expensive hope. Since I went to the U of Nairobi in the 70's (yes, I'm getting old) , I've been back and lived and worked and hunted in various parts of Africa many times. Here's the newest thing for my wife and I.....we volunteer with wildlife veterinarians and on game reserves doing research and management....for a fraction of the cost of a safari or a hunt. We often manage the animals HANDS ON. We do everything from rhino dehorning, wound care, animal capture, etc. This spring we "worked" for 7 weeks and hunted for 1 week on one of the game farms we were called to for buffalo care. Interested...I can get you info on some of the better organizations we've been involved with (some aren't so good). I don't get paid, but like to support the cause and love of African wildlife and ecology. We're back again next spring for 2 months on 3 different projects.

"My name is Nate and I have an addiction."
It all started with what I thought would be a once-in-a-lifetime hunt in Limpopo, South Africa With Cruiser Safaris in September 2016. While overnighting at Afton, I met an older gentleman who had hunted Africa 15 times starting in 1991. I briefly thought of him as a cautionary tale, but then realized that he was an inspiration.
After a great hunt and literally as we driving to OR Tambo, I started planning to return. In April 2017, I hunted with African Cape Safaris in the Eastern Cape. Great hunt and I realized that I wanted to hunt with them again. Probably in 2020.
In January 2017, I won a auction hunt at the SCI Las Vegas Chapter with Namibia Safari Corporation. I finished that hunt in April 2018. I look forward to hunting with Jaco again, hopefully Hippo or Buffalo in the Caprivi in 2021 or 2022.
In May 2019, I am hunting Buffalo for the first time with Pawprint Safaris. I am equally blessed that I will be in camp with Norfolk Shooter and Dabloobana, two of my cohorts from the first AfricaHunting Get Together in London.
So, I admit that I am an addict. I don't know how this will end, but I'm going to enjoy it while I can.
remember, its impossible to over dose,so your ok.

Is it bad I have considered this as well? At least I am not alone!

My first one was 2011 in The Limpopo and I’ve been to South Africa or Namibia every year, I’ve done back to back 2 times. I leave for the Caprivi Strip in 3 weeks

Why, oh why, did you not warn me prior to this? A few short weeks ago and I might have been saved. I did like the response where the planning started even before the first trip ended. I thought I was the only one.

Yep, "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here".
