These animals deserve their own rifle

For me it’s 3:

450 Dakota
375H&H
300RUM

That’s based on what I have and already used on some in the list…

In contrast to the threads seeking one do it all rifle, I think each of these “big ticket” animals deserves their own rifle and optic:

1. Elephant
2. Hippo
3. Lion
4. Cape Buffalo
5. Leopard
6. Crocodile
7. Brown Bear
8. Moose
9. Mountain Lion/Cougar

Im curious, what nine gun battery would you put together (regardless of cost)?
Elephant 375 H&H scoped w/solid
Hippo 375 Aframe
Lion 375 300 gr Nosler Partition
Buffalo 375 300 gr Aframe
Leopard 375 partition
Crocodile 375 partition
Brown Bear 375 partition
Moose 375 partition
Mountain lion, most any deer capable caliber but my 375 would also do the job just fine.
Bullet choice is as important as caliber.

What a fun thread.

1. Elephant - .450 NE
2. Hippo - assume land - C&H .475 3 1/4” double
3. Lion - C&H .375 2 1/2” Double
4. Cape Buffalo .450/400 3 1/4” NE
5. Leopard - C&H Cosmos 12g
6. Crocodile - C&H .375 H&H
7. Brown Bear - Winchester 1876 .45-75
8. Moose - Champlin .338 Win Mag
9. Mountain Lion/Cougar - Winchester 1894BB .356WCF (scoped)

I only have No1 and No9 rifle. So plenty to still get :D
7 & 8 can be switched depending on what’s encountered.

Saw a good looking knife you posted a pic of with the watermelon. Can I ask the make? Looks like you hunted with Guav Johnson? We overlapped in the Save once. Would like to hunt with him one day..
