The double has arrived

With @WAB on this one. It is just another thing until it is photographed next to one of those great black beasts. Then it will bear a bit of his and your soul into the future.

Congratulations Kevin! We have all been longing together for her arrival! As @WAB put it: next step is a buffalo!

Love that first picture with the rifle stand, very classy!

Gorgeous!!! Congrats to you!!! Cant wait to see some hunting pics with it.

About 14 months in all end to end.
Was it custom made for you (trigger pull, etc.) so that includes mfg time or was the entire wait shipping and customs-related??

Absolutely gorgeous!! Am looking forward to your hunt report, I think I fried my computers keypad from the drool on it.

Not especially made because it tried several and came to the conclusion that the standard fits me best. A big part was waiting for permits.

At long last my 450/400 3" double is here! I am over joyed, this is a pivotal moment, something I am sure the other double owners on AH experienced too. It was all rather plain sailing, the customs couldn't have been more helpful.
Just in time for the upcomming hunt on the 24th and hopefully it will take it's first buff.
thanks to all of you for your interest and enthusiasm along the way.

Great looking gun, love the wood :)

Congrats Kevin, wish you many successful hunts with it :D Cheers:

Congratulations to your new double. You are will to love. It’s a pleasure to shoot and you have beautiful wood on it.

It was that original photo you posted a few years ago that convinced me Lowdi.

Do you happen to know the finished weight, and is it regulated with DGX/DGS?
Hi Puddle, the brochure says 4.5kg and i just weighed it at 4.594 kg. That's 10.13 pounds.

Congrats, now go out and practice, practice, practice, then go shoot a Buff.

Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
To much to political shit, to little Africa :-)
Spending a few years hunting out west then back to Africa!

Hello. If you haven't already sold this rifle then I will purchase. Please advise. Thank you.

I doubt you are interested in any trades but I was getting ready to list a Sauer 404 3 barrel set in the 10-12 price range if your interested. It has the 404J, 30-06 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. Only the 30-06 had been shot and it has 7 rounds through it as I was working on breaking the barrel in. It also has both the synthetic thumbhole stock and somewhere between grade 3-5 non thumbhole stock
