Here is the full story of Jasper's grueling first buffalo hunt in Zimbabwe. It is very well done but I get knots in my stomach thinking about the worry of a charge from a wounded buffalo with my son in tow for 7 long days.
Enjoy this trip to the beautiful Omay!

@Philip Glass My wife and I watched that video yesterday. She asked me, "Isn't that the young man who from our table at the AH dinner last year?" "Why yes it is" I relied.

What a way spend a 7-day vacation touring nature in Zimbabwe!

Phillip, Johnny was in our Chewore camp for a layover on his way to your hunt. He would be a pleasure to hunt with. As I’m sure all D&Y PHs are.

I agree with that nagging feeling during a DG hunt. Even though I felt like I had fully prepared. And practiced. I still had that concern of not messing up that first shot. And endangering the hunting group. Or losing an animal. It’s such a relief when the animal is quickly and safely. Put in the salt. But unfortunately it doesn’t always go as planned.

Thank you for this high quality video.

I've watched it last night. Actually it was already very early in the morning.
Very good filming and nerves wreaking experience. No wonder that Jasper needed to recharge his batteries in the middle of it. I was laughing as heard as the PH.
In the end where did the first shoot went? In the brisket?

Well done.

Watched it yesterday. Terrific job by Ph and his team sticking with it. Pretty dangerous stuff- congrats on his first buff- surely won’t forget it!

Superb video, but even better experience. I know the feeling well with respect to having one's son along for his first buff. Whenever I watch or experience one of these tracking efforts, I am simply in awe of the skills these men demonstrate. Good on all of you, and hearty congratulations to your son.

Excellent video. Congratulations to both you and your son. For the Buffalo and Gresbuck. Kudos to Johny and his team. What a wonderful job.

Vaughn did an excellent job on that video and I believe it’s one of the best examples of what a hunting video should be.

I maybe partial though, I’m the guy in the blue shirt behind Philip when they picked us up at the airstrip; I was the one hunting tuskless with Bruce Cronje as my PH, who was superb.

I can personally vouch for the Authenticity of their days spent tracking. Every morning Philip & Jasper’s truck was the first to leave camp and usually the last to return.

@Philip Glass - Watching the full video connected many puzzle pieces about what you guys were going through on that trip, especially seeing the heavy brush as Jasper shot, it all makes sense now.

I know a lot of “hunters” that would have thrown in the towel days earlier just to keep from walking that far; but few people will ever see a true masterclass in tracking like that.

Couldn’t have asked for a better first Africa hunt and yes the Omay is a beautiful place.

I just finished watching the video.

What an incredible job of tracking!!! :A Big Hello: 7 days and 100Km shows serious dedication by D & Y and their staff.....But also the commitment by Jasper and Phillip to stay on it.....
Congratulations Jasper and @Philip Glass! :D Beers:

What a great experience showcasing the true skills of the trackers and PH. Congratulations to you and your son. Great video.

I really enjoyed that video. It’s one of the better hunting videos I’ve seen in a while. The first shot was a bit risky without backup but it ended well. A lot of determination on part of hunters but that video is really about the trackers and working as a team. Probably no better first buffalo experience the way it turned out.

Well done to you all! Very nicely done video. Congrats on staying the course and sticking to it till the end.

Excellent hunt and video.

I’ve been watching for a couple of days now but haven’t made it thru. Spoiler alert I guess. I was in that same jesse in November. Congrats on the recovery and raising a son with the determination to keep on trekking. Well filmed too!

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
